Bridging the Generation Gap in the Workplace!

If you are a ‘Baby Boomer’/’Generation X’ like me, you may well have been subject to 7 common perceptions about us ‘older workers’.

In addition, it is pointless considering any role advertised which uses the words: ‘hungry’, ‘ambitious’, ‘in it for the long term’, ‘energetic’ etc. We all know what this means! It means, if you are over the age of 50, don’t even bother applying!!

Why so? I simply don’t know the answer to that.

Older workers are great problem solvers, full of experience, and eager to embrace new technology – for goodness sake, I am hosting a Podcast, and requiring no additional help to do so!

In this Video Short, I cover 7 key myths that older people have to endure.

And by the way, I am NOT saying that older people are better than younger people, just that organisations are perhaps missing out on a huge and valuable resource.

In the interests of fairness, younger people are ALSO subject to many misconceptions as well.

So, let’s BRIDGE the generation gap, and STOP generalising the apparent failings of multiple generations!
